What PayNote does—and what the request means.

Does this process payments or track whether a request is paid?

No. PayNote formats payment instructions. It never connects a wallet, signs a transaction, queries a balance or marks a request paid. Verify any payment separately in your wallet or block explorer. A request is not a receipt or a legally compliant tax invoice.

Will the QR code work in every wallet?

No universal compatibility is claimed. The default QR uses EIP-681 to request a transfer of USDT on Ethereum mainnet. A wallet may not support token payment URLs or may interpret them differently. Check every field in the wallet. The address-only option encodes no amount, asset or network; those must be set manually.

Why is the USDT contract different from my recipient address?

The EIP-681 request targets the USDT token contract and passes your recipient as the transfer address. They have different jobs. We fix the contract to the Ethereum USD₮ address in Tether’s supported protocols. Never enter the token contract as your receiving address. A valid recipient format does not prove ownership or supported network.

Where are my request details stored?

The application processes input in your browser. Hosted pages send fixed anonymous aggregate counts unless disabled or blocked by GPC/Do Not Track. No input, file data, referrer, wallet address or visitor ID is included. Disabling saves only an off preference on this site. Offline downloads send no measurement. Measurement details. The shared link includes the details in its URL fragment, which is not sent in normal HTTP requests to this host. It is not encryption: the link can appear in browser history, clipboard, screenshots and any app you share it with. Normal hosting access logs may exist. Avoid personal or confidential information.

Can someone change a payment link?

Yes. Requests are unsigned and editable. A convincing reference or note proves nothing about the sender. Confirm the full address, amount, token and network independently through a trusted channel. No image, note or generated link is proof that a payment happened.

Can I use this offline?

Download the self-contained offline HTML to create QR codes and payment details without internet access. Shared links open the hosted version. Source and tests are available in the source archive. Automated tests are not an independent security audit or verification in your wallet.
